Placed and Paid

One number from an agency's books every other week, the math behind it, and the decision it should change.

Every issue opens with a figure. Median markup in light industrial. Days to collect in healthcare staffing. The advance rate a $12M agency got last quarter and the concentration that set it. Then the arithmetic behind it, and what it means for a decision you are making. That is the whole issue.

  • One number. Sourced, dated, and named to its origin. If we cannot source it, we do not print it.
  • The math. Shown, not asserted. Every input visible so you can substitute your own.
  • The decision. What the number should change about how you price, fund, or staff. Sometimes the answer is nothing, and we say so.
  • Every other Tuesday. Twenty-six issues a year. Not daily, not weekly, and never on Friday, because you are busy on Friday.
